On August 10, 2025, the closing night of the IX Edition of the San Benedetto International Film Festival became an extraordinary event: legendary composer and Goblin founder Claudio Simonetti performed live at the Palazzina Azzurra before a sold-out audience.
Simonetti — whose music defined the golden era of Italian genre cinema alongside director Dario Argento — was honoured with the festival’s Career Award, recognising his unparalleled contribution to cinematic music worldwide. The evening was part of Notti d’Argento, the festival’s special section dedicated to Italian genre cinema heritage.
